LATIN BUSINESS FORUM 2010
Over the last decade, economic linkages between Asia and Latin America continue to expand with unprecedented level, with the increasing of the creation of trade agreements and a rise of bilateral trade and investment in the two regions. Although trade and investment between the two regions continues to grow at
a rapid pace, it has not yet reached its full potential. Also, the global economic slowdown brought upon by the international financial crisis, it is more important than ever to develop a closer collaboration between
SEA and LAC countries through increasing inter-regional linkages and transfer knowledge between the two regions in order to maximize inter-regional synergy for enhancing economic relations.
The Office of Thailand Trade Representative, The Thai Chamber of Commerce, The Southeast Asia - Latin America (SEA-LAC) Trade Center of the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce and the ASEAN Foundation in cooperation with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies of Latin American countries in Thailand (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, and Peru) and other Thailand government agencies are organizing the Latin Business Forum 2010, Bangkok, Thailand. This forum is the first of its kind to be held in Thailand to attract numerous trade representatives, economists, corporate leaders, and academics from Latin American countries as well as Southeast Asian countries to build foster and strengthen trade and investment relations between the two regions. |
